Hello Joe,

Thanks for the report. Food for thought for a lot of folks, I'm sure.

I'm wondering if you can do an experiment for me, it won't take long
or use up much of anything. I'm a great fan of Black Only printing,
and I recently saw several BO prints from a 4000 and was impressed by
the unique dither pattern which seemed to eliminate all dither
banding. Your comments make me wonder if the C64 has the same dither
pattern as the 4000?

Could you make a small print on both machines using the Black Only
setting and examine them with a loupe to see if they use the same
pattern? If the C64 uses that pattern there might be one sitting on
my desk before long. Thanks very much if you can find time to do
this.

Regards,
Clayton
