FWIW, I don't have a 4000 and so haven't seen its dither pattern, but I do have a C84 (incredible bang for the buck) and printed a bunch of BO prints with it using both the Epson OEM black cart that came with it, and with EZ Eboni. While the BO results are nice, they're smoother with the EZ inks firing on all four nozzles. And the BO dither in large smooth areas looked almost exactly the same as I got printing BO on my old 860 with Epson ink (same images printed at the same sizes - I was doing some comparison testing of inks and papers.)
