"Photoshop in Black and White" - by Jim Rich and Sandy Bozeh Some what dated, I think it stopped at around PS 5 or 6, but still the basics remain the same in most cases. "Adobe Photoshop CS for Photographers" by Martin Evening Focal Press is by far the best PS book geared toward photographers. Very well written.
