FWIW, I gathered the following info for another group - I called Epson USA and spoke with "John" in tech support who said he didn't know of any difference between the two models either except for the look/design. The printing speed, the Durabrite inks, the picoliter/droplet size, the paper sizes, the paper feeder - all the same. I asked about the ink cartridges and whether they were anything different, they're even the same cartridge SKUs. Even their PR agency in San Jose confirmed the same info - the only thing new is a "New Photo Kit" - "New with the EPSON Stylus C66 and C86, customers will receive a photo kit for easy and convenient photo printing and crafting. Included with both printers are 20 sheets of photo paper, Epson Software(R) Film Factory(TM) for easy photo storage, printing and organization, as well as a free membership to Epson's exclusive photo craft and photo sharing Web sites, giving customers all the resources needed to start printing at home." Don't even bother asking why they do this... Just buy the Epson C84 and use the rebates with confidence, unless you absolutely have to join the exclusive Epson photo craft and photo sharing Web site! Those rebates won't last long, thru September, as the "new" model is out...
