Digital BW, The Print

I have been trying to find out if there is any way to get decent B&W
prints using a Canon i9900 printer.  Is there a way to print Black
Only?  Grayscale with color?  I am not very savvy on this brand but
have recently read some good things about these printers.... of
course, we all have our own little niche to deal with in B&W.
