Hello Tom, >I just receintly got a sp4000. Now I'm considering turning my 2200 >into a greyscale printer by installing the sundance septone system. >Has anyone here had experience with this system? If so do you have >some opinions and experience you would like to share? Last summer I received several sample Septone prints directly from Sundance people. I put one of them on my window sill as part of an ongoing test with various ink/paper combinations. The Septone print began fading and color shifting at 125 days and increased over time. My conclusion is that the black ink contains some dye. Unless they have changed their ink, this appears not to be a good archival solution. Here's a scan of the test strip. The dark strip down the middle was covered with a piece of matt board: http://www.cjcom.net/files/septoneTest.jpg Regards, Clayton Info on black and white digital printing at http://www.cjcom.net/digiprnarts.htm
