Most refurb monitors are ones that just made a trip to a dealer and then back because of over-ordering or mis-orders. Then they can not be sold as new so therefore the "refurbished" label goes on them. As long as they come with the same warranty, who cares. I own several LaCie refurbished units with no problems.
