Digital BW, The Print

A friend and I just built a machine with these specs and it screams:

P4 / 3.2
2 GB Dual 3200 Ram
Gigabyte/Radeon R9800 XT Graphics Accelerator
Asus P4P800E-DeLuxe (Ticky about  the memory it uses)
3-15,000 RPM 17 GB SCSI HDD (One for C-Drive, One for work-in-progress, One
dedicated PS scratch disk)
1-250 SATA 250 GB HDD for storage

The neat thing about SCSI is that they operate off a SCSI card independent
of the processor. All the processor does is send an instrucition to the SCSI
(or that's how I understand it). The machine is blazingly fast. The SCSI
drives are reconditioned and cost $85 each and work fine. I also set up dual
LaCie Electron 19 Blue IV monitors, refurbished for about half price. I can
run resource intensive PS operations on 600 dpi, 16 bit files and it does
not bog down. XP Pro, (Legal OEM version).
