Re: [Digital BW] Problems with Piezo? It gets hot in the kitchen.

Jerry,

That depends on who is paying for it.

Newspapers that have top or not top photojournalists are looking for a camera with solid body, decent image quality (not the same as the highest resolution) and most like the range of light (ISO range) and the fast shutter speed. A business can afford to expense the tools.

If the Canon 1D can shoot off 8 frames per second...they will more likely get that special "expression" or event on the memory card...and that is where the money is. This camera's key feature is a fast frame speed. Most useful for motorsports, sports, and other PJs who have to catch the image and get paid on results.

For amateur users, it is overkill....unless you like to spend money freely...or have the latest and greatest.

Thanks Alejandro. The lens is available now at B&H for $1799.

Eight thousand is in my opinion way out of line for a digital camera
with only 4.2 megapixels. You can get the 6 megapixel Contax or the
Kodak 760 for less. Or the nikon DX. I know the new D1 is going to be a
dream camera, but for that kind of money it must be at least, at the
  Very least, 6 megapixels.
