Digital BW, The Print

I haven't read any of the posts recently about QTR for Windows b/c I'm on a 
Mac.  I must have therefore missed the initial announcement of this "QTRgui" 
application.  I have some questions about QTRgui and the current iteration of 
QTR itself that hopefully someone can answer.

(1) QTRgui is a Windows-only application, yes?  If so, any indications of future 
development for the Mac?

(2) I assume that the "gui" in the name stands for "Graphical User Interface."  
Does that mean that, when you open an image in QTRgui and apply a QTR 
curve, it shows the tonal effect of different curves?  In other words, if you're 
using QTR via QTRgui and select the "warm" curve, does the image on 
screen change to reflect the warm selection?  If so, I really want it for the Mac.

(3)  Does the development of QTRgui mean that QTR now has some of the 
functions like ImagePrint has, e.g., the ability to lay out multiple images  
visually on a page; bypassing the Epson print driver to be able to print longer 
than 90 inches?  I guess what I'm asking here, since I can't try a QTRgui 
demo, is what exactly does it do?  No offense, but the info on the webpage for 
it doesn't tell me much: "QTRgui is a front end to Roy Harrington's Quad Tone 
RIP for Windows."  And all the questions posted about it here are by people 
already using it, so they kinda already know basically what it does.

(4) Re: QTR itself: any further info on support for the Epson 4000 yet?  I ask b/
c I have a 9600 and a 4000, and already have ImagePrint for the 9600, but 
not the 4000.  (I also have QTR for the 9600, but not the 4000 since QTR 
didn't work for the 4000 when last I checked).

(5) Also re: QTR itself, Roy's intro page indicates that "QuadToneRIP now 
supports the 21/2200 and 76/9600 printers with Epson UltraChrome Inks. The 
profiles provide metamerism-free Black & White printing with a full range of 
tones from cool to neutral to warm and sepia."  When I just downloaded the 
76/9600 profiles, I don't see a "neutral" curve -- rather, I see the same "Cool", 
"CoolSe" and "Warm" curves that I already have installed  I understand that 
many people are combining curves to get a "neutral" print, but I have never 
been able to come up with a curve combo that looks neutral to me -- I get 
beautiful warm, cool, or selenium tones, but not neutral.  I'm NOT knocking 
QTR, but it would be nice if there is indeed now a standard "neutral" curve.
