I'm not an expert nor the developer of QTR or the QTRGui, but I can answer some of these based on my experiences in the past week with both QR and the Gui. > (1) QTRgui is a Windows-only application, yes? No. It means you get to make prints via a user-friendly intuitive interface versus having to manually edit text files. I certainly dont have the skills, time, or experience to manually alter complicated appearing .bat files. Were it not for Stephen Billard's Gui, I would likely pass on QTR. > (3) Does the development of QTRgui mean that QTR now has some of the > functions like ImagePrint has, e.g., the ability to lay out multiple images > visually on a page; bypassing the Epson print driver to be able to print longer > than 90 inches? NO. See my answer to number 2. That's what you get. > (4) Re: QTR itself: any further info on support for the Epson 4000 yet? QTR, but it would be nice if there is indeed now a standard "neutral" curve. IMO, the curve billed as 'nuetral' is definitely not nuetral to my eyes. Since this isn't 'traditional' wet printmaking, I've never seen the need to emulate a traditional b/w print. I'm thankful for the QT curves and the ability to blend them to achieve unique non- traditional appearances with my prints (more like platinum). Michael www.mgordonphotography.com
