Hello James, Josh, Thanks very much for your replies and the info about the other photographers as well. All very interesting reading. I went to the web site and saw mention of some other interesting publishing ventures. >...bio info to confirm that it's the same David Wing, >He was an instructor at Grossmont College, Yes, one and the same. The book jacket did mention his being on the art faculty at Grossmont College. I've been a collector of photo books for years, and can say that this one is a bargain. It is beautifully printed and bound (in the US), is about 75 pages of matte surface photos and is only $30. It reminds me very much of William Clift's "Certain Places". I prefer the matte surface printing over the shiny enameled pages like in the AA books. I have several (Alfred Stieglitz, Laura Gilpin, William Clift among my favorites) and greatly prefer that look. Seems like that technique is used more for platinum work, and David Wing's photos have that look. This is a very fine body of work and beautifully presented. It was published in 2003 and 3000 copies were printed. One of my great joys is to settle into a comfy chair with a good photo book. There are several in my collection that I return to periodically, and this will most likely become one of them.
