Digital BW, The Print

After much investigation, it appears that you need to change your BW
image to Grayscale mode in PS (from RGB) in order to get it to print
properly on Epson Premium Glossy. Leaving it in RGB makes the print
too light. With grayscale, I get a pretty good match to screen with
the recommended setting of contrast -10. The C84 results are stunning
as mentioned by others here.
Anybody else notice this ?
