RE: [Digital BW] Olympus Printer

Cathy,

I have seen outputs from an Olympus dye-sub (don't remember the exact name,
but it was a new model about a year ago), and it was outstanding for color
prints, not so for black and white. The salesman at the fair I visited in
Milan told me that the dye-sub technology isn't capable of deep blacks, and
therefore ir more suitable for colors. The printouts I saw seem to confirm
this, but maybe things have changed in the meanwhile (a year is a loooong
time in this field...).

Has anyone yet had any experience with a new Dye-sub Olympus printer?
I heard from a friend that he saw some INCREDIBLE prints from this
new printer, and that the printer is supposed to "blow away" Epson
technology. The person using this technology does this printing for a
living and keeps abreast of all the new technology (because companies
keep sending him products to try out...). I am wary of the dye-sub
technology, but I've got to do some searching and find out what this
is all about...

If anyone hears anything...let us all know...
Cathy
