There is no reason not to reuse the carts. It's done all the time. I believe all the current MIS 1280 carts have poppet valves, just like the Epson ones so it's not necessary to seal the bottom. But it never hurts. I use one long strip of scotch tape to seal both the top and bottom for long term storage.
