If it works OK that way, then the problem is with the GUI. I have the same system, including the loopback adaptor and except for XP Pro instead of Home Ed. There are a number of issues that can stop the process at various stages, I suggest that you carefully go over all the instructions to be sure that all the files are in the right folders, this is critical. I have found that I must let the setup program install the files where *it wants to* regardless of what's convenient for me, in order to be sure of locations. Also, search for "loopback adaptor" in this list to get all the info on it's installation, there are some important steps that are covered in a reference link in one of the messages that helped me get it to work properly. It is a Microsoft program included in XP and they have some of the info needed on setting it up. If you got QTR to work without one, you must have a networked printer on your system. Frank
