John; I am using the 7000 with MIS inks and while there are occasional clogs etc., I generally find that I am able to print consistently and it has worked well for several years. I started with MIS-FS, then added Eboni, then UT-FS. It takes time and there has always been a bit of alchemy (humidity, time between printing sessions, etc.) I use ImagePrint as my RIP and using this setup I have made hundreds successful prints (mostly 22"x44" some 20"x24") but there has also been a lot of waste... We are using the printer in a way that was not intended, so from my point of view a week is not much time to perfect this sort of modification.
