There are limits to the extent of cool or warm tones that QTR allows,
if your preferences are outside those settings, it won't satisfy you.
But it sounds like that isn't your problem and that you must simply
experiment as Stephen Billard says, bracketting the warm/cool
boundaries of your preferred tone. 

I suggest that you also try some of the curves for papers other than
the one you are using, if it is in the list, as there may be enough
difference to get you where you prefer to be in the tone range. Since
I'm using papers that aren't profiled in QTR, I have had to find my
own tone blending options and it has been without problems.
