KK2 Head cleaning on large Epsons

2004-10-17 by john dean

AS to KK2 Cleaning, I could not find the procedure stated in the manual and instead used
the sheet that someone posted for KK2 on a 7000 on the Yahoo site. This procedure
worked just like the sheet they gave me until it comes to the part that says "now to the
KK2 Cleaning Cycle". At that point my printer differed from this sheet. When I selected
SELECT TYPE where the menu should have spelled out "Check Cleaning". Instead the only
options available when I scrolled through the options were, Check Nozzle , and Clean
Head. Clean Head was really the only choice. I chose that and then the screen stated
"remove ink", which I did not do because then that made no sense and the level of ink
display would have been all wrong when I went back to use the machine. So each time I
just clicked enter. The screen said "blowing heads" while it went through a long involved
cleaning cycle which I assume was the KK2 cycle. But never on the printer screen did I see
the words KK2 or KK1 or whatever as an option. However, none of these 4 cleanings did
anything to change the nozzle patterns.

Did I really do a KK2 cleaning or should I order my new heads tomorrow?
Any suggestions. I've got to get to work printing again.
