Surprise Surprise....It works beautifully!

2001-11-02 by Steadman Uhlich

Sometimes our dreams come true.
Sometimes luck is on our side.
Sometimes the Great Printer Spirit in the sky smiles on us.

This morning, I fired up one of my 1160s that had been sitting idle for about 8 weeks. I had not printed a print on this machine in eight weeks. It has a CIS from Nomorecarts and PiezoBW inkset and I printed using the user-friendly PiezoBW software...(and...no, this is not a paid endorsement..).

So...after reading so much on these forums of the problems and their inevitability....I had my fingers crossed. Here are the results...quite a surprise.

First nozzle check: PERFECT

First Head Alignment: PERFECT

First TEST image: PERFECT

First Print 8x10: PERFECT (printed about 10 prints...all perfect)

First 11x14: PERFECT (printed about 6 prints this size...all perfect...no clogged nozzles or lines)

Of course this was a surprise for me. I expected the worst after 8 weeks of inactivity. I got the best.

Each print was beautiful. The images are delightful to look at..in all of their chocolate tones...(unsweet chocolate black...real yummy looking).

These prints look gorgeous. They are why I bought into digital printmaking and why I am elated when I see these results from inexpensive printers using a relatively inexpensive CIS bulk ink system.

Based on these prints and others hanging in my studio, I got three portrait commissions today. (GRIN)

So...to all those who have had the "Murphys Luck Syndrome"...I can only say...

"when it works, it works...beautifully."

And I wish you all success, happiness, clean nozzles, and peace.

Steadman
