I suggest always saving Unflattened PSD files. Disk space is dirt cheap and you never know when you want to go back and tweak a file. Once you save it as a TIF and close the original PSD file, that option is gone forever. It only takes seconds to flatten and sharpen a fle for printing then close the file without saving. And just starting over one time to change a file takes way more time that you could ever save. I also suggest saving the original scan file as a TIF. Like I said, disk space is cheap and it's nice not to ever have to rescan.
