I have been intrigued by this dialog, following each message. In general I 
have always favored CRTs as you do. However, the new Sony SDM-S204/B 20" LCD 
(I think you may have mentioned this one) is looking pretty favorable. And, 
though not a manufacturer--per se, they apparently do build and/or 
remanufacture their own monitors--I just found an online reseller today 
(monitorsdirect.com) that has a "No Dead Pixel" policy. They aren't the 
cheapest price around, but the dead pixel policy is, I suppose, worth 
something. And, if you're not satisfied, for any reason, for up to 30 days 
they provide a full refund, including one-way worth of shipping. They even 
supply free software for testing the monitor. Or, if you feel they can't be 
trusted this type of testing software is readily available on the 'net.
