I have profiled the i9900, it's much more well behaved and linear in it's unprofiled state than any Epson I have profiled. This is refering to the OEM RGB drivers of course. The Canon's superiority in this regard results in B&W that is much better than the Epson and actually usable, assuming a very good custom profile. However, printing B&W with the color inks, particularly dyes, has it's drawbacks.
