I agree with Tyler.
We have a client who does their proofing on a i9900. I made custom 
profiles for Canon Pro Gloss, Legion Photo Silk and Arches Infinity 
Smooth.
It is a very well-behaved printer with the Canon driver, and makes 
respectable B&W prints.
