Digital BW, The Print

Hi,
yesterday I installed a new Epson 2100.

I know that Epsons use ink for cleaning every time that you turn them on.

Is it ok to leave it turned on for long periods of time?

I've got a long learning curve with this printer - I can't work out why some prints work well and some are blue when printing is set to black.

I'll get there in the end. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
