What many people used to do, pick up a big non-electric kettle, fill it with water, and put it on top of the wood stove, not only did it add humidity to the air, but any time you wanted a cup of tea, or hot chocolate, instant hot water! You just need to refill it, whenever you add wood to the stove. W
