I once cut open some 1200 cartridges w/MIS inks that I had great dificulty with and found that the sponges were full of hard congealed spots of ink, particularly the black one. It looked more like a case of polymerization(sic) than anything else. The bulk inks had been around for 10-11 months or so before loading the cartridges and they had been reloaded 2 or 3 times. This also occured for me with a cis after 6 months or so of use. I came to the conclusion that there is a reason for the bag cartridges in the pro model Epsons. So far I haven't seen the problem with my 3000 but I'll keep my fingers crossed and the machine on a wobbly stand :) Duane --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, Carl Schofield <scho@m...> wrote: > I always assumed it was the poor cartridge design (sponge interior and > foaming) that caused most of the clogging problems with the MIS inks. > I'm now going to try again with the new cartridges and see if this > improves performance. > > > On Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at 05:02 PM, Steve Kale wrote: > > > > > > > So many people seem to have clogging problems with MIS inks (me > > included) that it begs > > the question as to what it is that these inks lacks that Epson UC inks > > have.
