Hi,

I scan my 4x5 with the Eps4870 and print 17x22 details sharp on Eps4000. Lovely combination.

  Hi Matt,

I scan my large format negs with an Epson Expression 1680 and Silverfast Ai6. Though, for B&W scanning, I tend to use Vuescan more than the Silverfast driver.

For printing, an Epson 2200 with standard UC inks and IP 6.0.

If I were embarking on large format scanning, today, and didn't need anything beyond 4x5 I'd take a serious look at the Epson 4870. The higher recording density really isn't needed for 4x5, but I've read pretty good things about this scanner.

  Hope this helps.
