OK, making a new new shortcut took care of the one problem, & I see 
by these other posts I shouldn't be expecting it to work at 2880. 
I've noticed that with the matte K ink the Epson driver doesn't give 
that option either, on available paper. I guess I'm hoping for a way 
around that for various reasons...
