Digital BW, The Print

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but I could do with some reliable advice.
I want to supplement my LaCie CRT monitor with a small LCD second monitor 
off the same Nvidia GeForce 2 card on my PC. The idea is to use the LCD 
monitor for palettes etc in Photoshop to declutter the main CRT screen. I 
don't have room for another CRT.
1. Can you combine the two technologies successfully off the same card?
2. If so, any particular attributes I should look out for in the LCD specs?
