Paul (or anybody else who can field this), after being really impressed w/ your UT7 inks and curves, I took the plunge and bought the CIS for the 2200. I'm currently using the CIS system on inkjet art's duo matte paper w/ the EEM Neutral curve and following all your "printing w/ curves" instructions (16-bit layers, ADOBE RGB color space, etc.). unfortunately, w/ the curve applied, the midtones print---to use a technical word---"smeary." when I print the image w/o the curve, there's no midtone problem, but the image is too dark. any idea what's causing the smeary grays? I'm wondering if the grays are a result of applying your paper curves to overmanipulated and degraded images: I'm using pixel picasso's photokit to sharpen and apply other effects and photoshop CS's shadow/highlight tool. the inks are great; I just want to be able to use them correctly. thanks.
