Hello Mike,

One advantage of the 2200 is an ability to control the % ink level
applied to the print.  I have found this to be an important control in
getting results I want with UT7.  I don't think the 1280 has that
(someone correct me if I'm wrong).

The 2200 also has a rear paper feeder, very handy for real thick
stock.

I haven't kept score, but I have a definite impression that there are
many more 1280 clogging complaints here in this forum than for the
2200.

If you can afford the 2200 I'd recommend that one.  MIS now has the
new transparent top-fill carts for it.  It's a great printer.
