I don't mean to go OT here, but if Win98 works for him, and works well 
otherwise, then why should he upgrade.  A newer version of Windows, with 
higher memory requirements, and that requires newer peripherals, but 
that has the same bugs, virus and spy-ware issues, not worth the money 
spent.  Now if Adobe would release a Linux/FreeBSD version of Photoshop, 
then you could upgrade to a real operating system, then you would be 
talking.  Of course if your spending $1000 on a newer computer, you 
could always buy a slightly used Mac.....
