QTRgui gets the curve names from the folder associated with your printer. You did not say which printer, but if it is the 2200, then there is a folder named "..Quadtone\Quad2200" that contains a bunch of files that end in ".quad". The GUI searches this folder and loads up what it finds. The only ways for it not to have curves are 1/ "Calibration" is checked in the options menu (in which case it will show the word "Calibration" above the printer drop-down. 2/ there in no printer model selected in the drop-down. And 3/ there are no curves in the folder. There has been no change in this handling recently.
