Hello: I have installed QTR on my XP Home machine connected to my Epson 9600 using UC inks. I have also installed the GUI. Both seem to be working. But... I can't seem to get a better B&W image than I was by printing on Epson Enhanced Matte paper using QImage and the Bill Atkinson profiles for the 9600. In fact, I can't seem to even come close. I have to assume I am doing something wrong here. BTW, the "blackest" black (which is closer to blue actually) in QTR comes from the neutral curve. All other curves seem to come out a muddy brown. I tried running the calibration mode and printed off the 21step.tif file. At 100% it is a muddy brown at best. At 35%, it has a touch of magenta in the patch. At 30%, it is a light blue which graduates down to about 5%. At 0%, it is white. What am I supposed to do with this calibration bar? I have Monaco EZ color software which I use on my Epson 3200 Pro scanner, if that helps in your suggestions. Thanks in advance! Ken Smith KLS Images
