There're two type of ilford papers. The classic and non-classic.

Classic type is swellable for dye ONLY with long life but not water-proof (pigment ink will not dry).

The other type (anything that doesn't say 'classic') is for pigment. You will get short life with dye on this paper.

Since UT2 is pigment and canon is dye. You should not use the same paper for both printers.

One of the Ilford Pearl papers has a terribly short life span while
the other two are quite good can anyone tell me which is which. After
buying the wrong one you think I should know but it's all long gone
and so's the box it came in. Now looking at them I can't be sure which
is which.

I just know the one I bought the prints didn't last a year before they
were total green crap while a couple of other papers still look great.

Thanks

Mark W.

PS I will be using this paper with both UT-2 in a 890 and a i960 for
color with Canon ink.
