Re: [Digital BW] C86 maiden voyage

I don't think it's necessary to start with the OEM inks, but doing so
makes sure that the printer is functioning properly before you install
the MIS inks. If for some reason the printer isn't working properly
right out of the box, you can take it back/send it in for adjustment
without any worries about having put the "wrong" ink in it.

I installed the OEM inks in my C84 before installing the MIS EZ inks.
The ink path seems to be very short, so those color inks get purged
pretty quickly after you do the switch. I had beautiful monochrome
prints within a page or two after installing the EZ inks.

I've tried several papers, but have settled on Epson Enhanced Matte as
the best looking paper that's reasonably affordable. (I make a lot of
prints to give away as Christmas presents - did about 740 8x8 prints
this year - so cost is a factor. If I only did the occasional print for
display I would explore the more expensive offerings, but I can't afford
$1+/page at my volumes.)

Cheers,
Kip
