In the abstolute sense, perhaps, but relative to teaching with old 4x5 
cameras and Polaroid film........a digital Rebel with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, it's an 
affordable investment. Taking one picture costs the same as taking 1,000. The 
only costs are shutter wear and batterry recharge.

The rest is time and that is the best teacher of all. So, I guess more 
EFFICIENT equipment can make a better photographer.......................all other 
things being equal.
