Dave, At first I thought you were the David Brooks that wrote the recent Shutterbug article on B&W printing. That article does review many of the alternatives. My index of printing information is at http://home1.gte.net/res09aij/index.htm. I review most of the MIS solutions I've been involved with in Readme files access from that page. (I am not formally affiliated with MIS.) As to the subject line, I really like the 2200 and C86 "easy-refill" cartridges. I'm not sure I want to mess with the old style (including 1280) carts at all. I think the cost savings from re-filling these carts with bulk inks pays the difference between the 2200 and 1280 rather quickly. I use my C86 and 7500 the most. All the other printers just sit around gathering dust for the most part. Enjoy your B&W journey. Could you direct me to those posts. I'm new to this group, not new to photography, and would like to add another printer to my S800 for dedicated B&W. Let me say,i'm glad i found this group the other day. the few B&W prints i have done are not very good and i hope to read as many back posts as i can.
