OK, the 2100/2200 chips are in a recess which might make it a little harder, 
but just use the tip of a small screwdriver, sharp knife, big needle, etc to 
prise up the chip from the top. When the top of the chip comes off the 
plastic peg (which protrudes through a hole in the chip), the chip slips 
upwards and out from under the bottom peg/clip, which just fits in a slot in 
the chip.

Bob, you must have better fingernails that I do! I've been trying to
get the chips off a couple of old empthy 2200 Epson cartridges here
for the past 10 minutes with no luck.  Are any tools OK to use for
this?  I'm talking Epson here not third party cartridges.  thanks for
any advice.
