Steve, Well, I've had an EX, 1270, 1290, 2100, and R800, and never felt the need to remove them. Yes, you can see marks on dark areas with a lens, but no-one has ever commented on them with normal viewing. And that is using Premium Glossy a lot of the time. But then, I use Epson inks which dry quickly and mostly avoid the problem. If you use other inks that don't dry so quickly, then you may have a problem.
