Thanks, Steve. At present, IJC outputs its own test target, which has limited tonal separation between steps. It starts with paper white and progresses gradually to maximum black in 26 steps. The Eye One doesn't do well in strip reading mode with those small tonal differences. It usually wants a test chart with gaps between patches, or to have no gaps but large tonal differences between patches to avoid read errors. I'll have to experiment with my own test chart if I can get IJC to output it for me. Maybe there is an easy way and I just haven't figured it out yet. Perhaps I can rename my test chart to replace the existing IJC chart. Hmmmmmm........... I'll give it a try. Joe said he will be adding automatic data import for the Eye One in strip mode. He also plans to add support for other popular spectros like the DTP-41. I appreciate the idea, and so does my wrist.
