Digital BW, The Print

For the warmest BO printing with a good dmax, I'd try Epson UC Matte Black
on a warm paper like PermaJet Alpha.  Others may know of similar papers that
print warm (and don't flake).  

If you are using other than a 2200, you can pull UC MK from a 7600 cart
rather easily with a syringe fitted with an MIS bottom-fill adapter whose
snout has been shortened to 7 mm.

I sometimes use the UT carbon tone inks (no color toners) for reproductions
of old silver prints.  The tone matches quite well and the longevity is the
best we can do.  The UC MK is similar to these in terms of longevity and
tone -- possibly warmer than the MIS UT carbon midtones and definitely
warmer than Eboni.

Again, however, I don't think you'll have very good luck mixing color pigs
into the UC MK.

maybe I should say "Warm tone"   I am printing images from the early 
1900's which just do not look right with a neutral or cool tone.
