Nick, thanks for the reply. I put the paper in the tray and it printed, although i still had it set to manual feed. This 4000 just seems to be a finicky little bitch when it comes to the paper feed. Front loading seems to be quite complicated for me in terms of getting the sheet straight, i haven't given it a tremendous amount of practice yet but it does not seem very intuitive. i've read the manual, watched the QT tutorial and it still is very hit and miss.
