i was using lyson quads on an epson 1200, and was able to get decent prints, on matte paper only. Even then, it was trial and error. The lyson profiles were so far off that it was amazing. I went thru about 3 sets of inks, before i got them to print well. Then, the prints had a bit of greenish tint, which on some papers was real bad. As I recall, crane museo ended up being about the best. EEM I could never get to work. Blotchy, posterized etc..... museo has a warm color that neutralized the inks. Those museo prints are about as good as I get on my 1280 with UT2 inks, except the tone of the UT2 is controllable. Ilford classic pearl was good except that it was really green. All glossy papers were terrible, and i tried everything out there. ( i think). Bottom line is, experiment experiment experiment. Also, if you are using a mac, dont use the gimp driver. It might be better to get a 60 dollar epson C86, and use MIS EZ's. Then you could tap into the knowledge on Mr. Roarks website. That would probably cost the same as three sets of lyson carts! something to think about, if you can deal letter size as the Maximum size. good luck and hang in there, making one little adjustment at a time...Doug M
