Well I use PK Sharpener and now that I have a high res digital I am not so sure about it. It has never worked well with images from a PhaseOne back and is not doing a great job with my 1Ds MK II images. I have the latest version of it. Hence my question re sharpening in a RAW processing app such as Capture One Pro (which I use). PK Sharpener is excellent with scanned colour film but I have doubts about its performance with clean high res digital camera images. > From: Christer Rosewelll <christerart@...> > Reply-To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> > Date: Wed, 2 Feb 2005 13:59:29 -0600 > To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: [Digital BW] Re: in-camera capture sharpening and Canon versus Contax > > > Hans, > > I think José means to turn off the sharpening in RAW - under "Detai" > kb4 you process the image... > > and, yes - PK Sharpener is great: > > http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/software/pk-sharpener.shtml > > This is an old review -I think my version is 2.1... > > - i use it all the time and as a part of my image processing - it's > probably the very best program out there if you use it right - more on > it and programs for checking or correcting lenses: > > - DXO Anylizer > > http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/DXO-Tests/index.shtml > > - as well as a comparison between Canon 1Ds mk II and medium format > Phase One 22 Mb on; > > http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/1ds-mk11-vs-p25.shtml > > http://www.luminous-landscape.com > > much to read and great info on this site... > > C > >
