QTR: how to build profiles for Epson 1200

I'm using an Epson 1200 with Lyson Quad Black inks. QuadTone RIP
includes no profiles  for the 1200 – though there is an
installation script. 

So what's the procedure for building QTR profiles? (I do have a
reflection densitometer, if that's needed.)

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
