Changing inks (Cone vs. MIS FS)

2001-11-16 by Mark Carpenter

Hey all,

ConeTech is sending me a new 1160 CIS cartridge to replace the one I have
now, which has come down with DDS. I have ordered the FS MIS inks, as I
don't want to run the risk of getting DDS again. I love the ease of use of
the Cone software and I don't want to be messing with the VM inks and
curves right now, so I don't regret getting the Piezo system, but I wish I
had know about the FS inks earlier. All four 4 oz. bottles of the Cone inks
are above half full, probably closer to three quarters. I'd rather not just
ditch them. What are your thoughts on mixing them with the MIS inks, in the
hope that diluting them will stave off the return of DDS? Is anyone who
uses the Cone ink interested in buying them at a reduced rate? I bought the
system in the summer.

Cyan lot # B14191b
Magenta lot # B14248a
Yellow lot # B14189b
Black lot # B14193b

I suppose I could just stick them on the shelf until the cause of the
problem comes to light. Am I correct than no one using the FS inks has
reported DDS so far? How long have they been out?

Thanks,
Mark
