I enjoyed reading your post; interesting stuff. I would only add that in a 
long conversation with Adams in the early 80's, we spent several hours talking 
about Stieglitz's theory of equivalency, how that related to the zone system, 
and the coming era of digital printing. What was so amazing for me, and what 
keeps me fascinated to this day, is how he wove these together into a single 
fabric: photography.
