Scott, I went the same route as you and drew the same conclusions. Mine was: it's not possible with the R800 to get neutral prints under all lights. So my solution was the Epson C86 + the UT EZW inks from MIS. Worked out of the box, works every time. The printer is cheaper than a set of R800 inks.
